Travertine and marble dining tables

Solid travertine and natural marble dining tables, made to order in our workshop in Izmir, Türkiye. Rome on its column bases, Pure, Bambu, Bulky and Red Velvet come in standard sizes, and every one of them can be made round, oval or rectangular in the size your room needs, from a four-seat round to an 84 inch table for eight or ten.

The dining table is the most used piece of furniture in a home. It is touched every day, hot dishes are set on it, it is wiped down. Here the material is a question of durability as much as looks. Marbler Art dining tables are made with a solid natural marble or travertine top; we do not use veneers or composite stone.

How many seats

Allow 60 cm (24 in) of table edge per person; that is the narrowest width at which elbows do not touch. A 160 cm (63 in) rectangular table seats six comfortably, a 200 cm (79 in) table seats eight. For round tables, 120 cm (47 in) in diameter seats four and 150 cm (59 in) seats six. Leave at least 90 cm (35 in) to the wall so chairs can be pulled back; marble tables are not light, and you will not want to move one once it is in place. A round travertine dining table of 120 cm (47 in) seats four, 150 cm (59 in) six; a rectangular 213 cm (84 in) table seats eight.

The collection

Pure is a dining table with clean lines and a generous top, offered in several stones and two standard sizes. Red Velvet is the table-scale counterpart of the coffee table of the same name, in Calacatta Viola. Rome, Bambu and Bulky are 200 by 120 cm (79 by 47 in) tables with sculptural bases in travertine or Volakas. All of them can be made to order for four to eight seats and in custom dimensions.

Choosing the stone

Burdur travertine is our standard stone: warm beige layers that hide small marks on an everyday table. Calacatta Viola, Volakas and Alexander Black are held in stock for a more graphic table, and other stones are sourced to order. Ask for photos of the slab before it is cut.

On a dining table a light stone shows marks sooner but reflects light and makes the room larger; a dark stone does the opposite. For a heavily used family table Burdur travertine and Akhisar beige are practical choices: their layered texture hides small marks. Calacatta and Alexander Black are chosen more often for dining rooms meant to be seen. Translucent stones such as Blue Onyx are striking when lit from below, but are not recommended as an everyday dining surface.

Production and shipping

Tables are made after your order; production takes 2 to 6 weeks, most orders 3 to 4 weeks, plus transit. The top thickness is calculated from the span and the number of seats, and wide tops get a support profile under the body. Top and base ship as separate parts in a wooden export crate, which keeps the crate manageable and the assembly straightforward. Freight is quoted per order. We ship to the USA, the UK and Europe and quote delivery to your door, with duties if you wish; send the items and your ZIP or postal code on WhatsApp or to info@marblerart.com. See shipping to the USA and international orders.

Care

The dining table is where marble works hardest. Three things to know: acids such as lemon and vinegar leave a permanent dull mark, hot pans should not be set directly on the stone, and spills should be wiped without delay. Our tables are sealed before delivery; renew the sealer about every two years. Care guide.
