About marble

What is marble?

Marble is a natural stone, but it differs from other natural stones such as granite. Marble forms from calcium carbonate minerals, while granite is a mix of several minerals. Marble is generally softer and carries veining in a wide range of colors and patterns.

Why choose marble furniture?

Marble is known for its durability, its looks and the unique character natural stone brings. It suits many settings and quietly raises the atmosphere of a home or an office. The range of colors and patterns lets you reflect your own taste.

How should marble pieces be cared for?

Marble is a natural material and lasts a long time with the right care. For daily cleaning a mild cleaner and a damp cloth are enough. Harsh cleaners and acidic substances can stain or damage marble; avoid them. Renewing the protective sealer periodically is also recommended. Details are in the marble care guide.

What kinds of marble are there?

Marble varies with the source and region it comes from. It exists in white, black, cream, gray, green and many other colors and patterns, each with its own look. You can see the stones we work with in our marble range.

Where can marble be used?

Marble is versatile: kitchen and bathroom countertops, floors, walls, stair treads, fireplaces, table tops and decorative objects. Wherever it is used it adds a sense of quality and calm.

What decides the price of marble?

The price of marble depends on its quality, its color and pattern, its origin and how it is processed. Marbles with rare or exceptional color and veining are generally more expensive; more common marbles can be offered at a lower price.

Is marble stain resistant?

As a natural stone, marble is somewhat sensitive to stains. Proper care and regular cleaning improve its resistance: apply a protective sealer periodically, wipe spills right away and keep acidic or coloring substances off the surface.

Why does marble have natural cracks and fills?

Marble is a natural stone and can carry natural fissures. They come from fractures and mineral deposits during its formation; in travertine the natural pores are filled and polished during production. They are part of the material, not a defect.

Do the colors of marble fade over time?

Marble has natural colors and can lose a little of its tone after long use and exposure to direct sunlight. Proper care and protection keep that effect to a minimum.

Can I put hot items on marble?

Marble is sensitive to heat. Placing hot items directly on the surface can leave marks or cause damage; always use a heat-resistant trivet.

Is marble different indoors and outdoors?

Marble can be used indoors and outdoors. Outdoor marble has to withstand frost and weather, so the stone and the finish are chosen accordingly.

About Marbler Art

What do you make?

Furniture in natural marble and onyx: coffee tables, side tables, dining tables, consoles, decorative pieces and onyx lights and fully custom concept designs. All of it is in the shop.

Do you ship outside Türkiye?

Yes, we ship worldwide. Every piece is crated for export and shipped by ocean, air or road freight to your address. Freight is quoted per order together with the price of the piece; see International orders for how it works.

Why are there no prices on the English pages?

Logistics, duties and taxes differ by country, so we quote each piece individually for your address. Open the piece you like, send the enquiry form with your country and delivery address, and you receive a written quote by email, usually within one business day: the piece plus transport, customs clearance on both sides, import duties and taxes and door delivery if wanted, arranged by us. The export price list gives the standard prices in euros, EXW Izmir factory, for pieces exported from Türkiye; deliveries inside Türkiye follow the Turkish list plus 20 percent KDV. Companies receive trade discounts and bulk orders are priced individually.

How do I pay?

By international bank transfer against a proforma invoice, or by a secure card payment link sent by email. Depending on the order we take full payment before production or a deposit before production and the balance before shipping; the split is written in your quote.

How long does it take?

We do not hold finished stock; every piece is made to order. Production takes 2 to 6 weeks from the day payment arrives, most orders 3 to 4 weeks. Transit is added on top: typically a few days by air freight and 3 to 6 weeks by ocean freight, depending on the destination. The date in your order confirmation is the one that counts.

Which colors and stones are available?

A wide range: white, black, gray, cream, green, blue, brown and more, in marble, travertine and onyx. Burdur travertine, Calacatta Viola, Volakas, Alexander Black and Akhisar beige are held in stock; the other stones in our range are sourced to order. Every piece in the collection can be made in the stone you choose.

Do you make custom sizes and designs?

Yes. We design and make marble pieces in custom dimensions, patterns and shapes to suit your needs. Share your space and dimensions through the contact form; for a fully custom piece see how concept designs work.

What quality of material do you use?

All our pieces are 100% natural marble, travertine and onyx; we do not use veneers, composites or stone-look materials. We select the slab and cut and work it at our own facility in Çiğli, Izmir, alongside our group company Aktaş Mermer.

Will my piece look exactly like the photo?

No two slabs of natural stone are the same, so the veining and color of your piece will differ from the photo while keeping the same character. Before we cut, we can send photos of the slabs in stock in your stone so you choose the slab that becomes your piece.

Do you offer installation?

Most pieces arrive as a top and a base that are assembled in minutes without tools. For architectural projects abroad we supply technical drawings and work with your installer; in and around Izmir our own crew measures and installs.

What if the piece arrives damaged?

Note any visible damage on the delivery receipt, photograph the crate and the piece, and write to us within 48 hours. We file the claim with the forwarder and repair, remake in the same stone or refund, as agreed with you. Manufacturing defects are our responsibility; natural variation in veining and color is not a defect.

How can I see the pieces in person?

Visitors to Izmir are welcome at our factory in Çiğli by appointment, where you can see the slabs, choose yours and watch production. For everyone else we send slab photos, videos and, for projects, samples.

What care do you recommend after delivery?

We send care instructions with every piece. The general rules are in the marble care guide: mild cleaner, damp cloth, no acids, trivets under hot items, and a renewed sealer about every two years.

Do you ship to the USA?

Yes. We ship to all US states by ocean or air freight. Every order is quoted door to door for your ZIP code, with US customs clearance and, if you wish, import duties included. Details are on shipping to the USA.

Are import duties and customs included?

They can be. On request we quote delivered duty paid: freight, customs clearance in Türkiye and in your country, the customs broker and import duties, as one figure before you pay. Our export price list itself is EX WORKS Izmir and excludes them.

How much does shipping from Turkey to the USA cost?

It depends on the size and weight of the crate, the number of pieces, ocean or air freight and your ZIP code, so we quote each order. Several pieces in one shipment cost less per piece than a single piece. Send us the items and your ZIP code for an exact figure.

Do you have a minimum order?

No. Single pieces are welcome. For shipments abroad, ordering several pieces together lowers the freight per piece.

Do you offer trade prices and private label?

Yes. Designers, architects, retailers and brands receive trade pricing quoted per order, and private label production is possible on request, discussed case by case. We do not drop ship to end customers. See trade and private label.

Travertine

Is a travertine table durable?

Yes, with care. Travertine is a solid natural stone that lasts for generations; its surface is softer than granite, so acids such as lemon or wine can dull it. Our tables are filled and sealed before delivery; wipe spills quickly and renew the sealer about every two years.

Can a travertine table be used outside?

Travertine is used outdoors in warm climates, but frost, rain and sun weather the surface over time. Our furniture is finished for indoor use; ask us before ordering a piece for a terrace.

Is Turkish marble good quality?

Türkiye is one of the world’s largest producers of natural stone, and stones such as Burdur travertine and Akhisar beige are exported worldwide. Quality depends on the individual slab, which is why we send photos of your slab before we cut it.
