Decorative pieces

Decorative pieces are the second life of the stone left over from furniture. When a coffee table top is cut, the remaining pieces become rubble in most workshops. Not in ours: the same Calacatta becomes a candle holder, the same Burdur travertine a bookend, a tray or a display stand, and the onyx offcuts become lights.

Why small pieces

The easiest way to start living with natural stone is a small piece. A marble table is a decision that needs budget and space; a candle holder or a tray lets you experience the weight, the coolness and the way the stone holds light in your own home. Many of our customers come to the larger pieces from here.

Small pieces are also the right scale for onyx. Translucent stones such as Blue Onyx and Honey Onyx show their real character when lit from behind, which is rarely possible in a table top but happens naturally in a light or a candle holder.

Lighting

A low-heat LED placed behind an onyx slab makes the veining of the stone visible together with the light. It is one of the least known and most striking uses of natural stone in a home. Our lit panels and lamps, Whindu, Khenobi, Rain Drops and Fumes among them, are made to order and to the size of the space.

Ordering

We do not hold stock of decorative pieces; because production depends on the stone left over from the slabs we cut, the available pieces change from season to season. If you want a particular piece in a particular stone, write to us; we can set the stone aside for you when we next cut it. Small pieces ship well by air; freight is quoted per order.

Care

Small marble pieces follow the same rules: no acidic cleaners, do not leave spills, a damp microfiber cloth is enough. In candle holders, wax should be removed while it is still warm, before it seeps into the stone.
